Biography
Pask-Thompson is a visual artist located in Saskatoon, known for her authentic, oil, and mixed media artworks canvas and cradleboard. She holds a B.A. in Art and a B.Ed. from University of Saskatchewan, where she spent over 30 years teaching art elementary and high school levels while also maintaining a part-time studio practice. After retiring from teaching, Karen became a Program Guide at the Remai Modern Art Museum in Saskatoon, where she led tours and educational activities, strengthening her connections within the art community and allowing her fully focus on her studio work. Her artistic style draws inspiration from Fauvism, Surrealism, and Expressionism, informing her pieces with vibrant symbolism and emotional depth. Rooted in prairie imagery, her work explores the human condition, prompting viewers to reflect upon personal and universal themes. Her art is included in public collections at the Mann Art Gallery in Prince Albert and at St. Thomas More Gallery in Saskatoon. Over her career, she has had numerous solo exhibitions in Saskatoon, including at the Frances Library, Calories Restaurant, St. Thomas More Gallery, and the Chapel Gallery in NorthBattleford, as well as participating in group exhibitions prestigious venues like the Mann Art Gallery, Humboldt Art Gallery, and. Thomas More Gallery.
